Suite Bathroom First Look - A Before and After
When we moved in, the charm of the historic farmhouse made it easy to overlook some of the quirks of a home that could use some updating. For instance, I could deal with a kitchen that hadn't been updated since the 80's, because there were beautiful, wide-planked wood floors throughout the rest of the home. And as T likes to remind me, those don't come cheap nowadays!
Like the kitchen, the farmhouse had seen an addition connecting the main house to the garage - and it needed some updating. This area was old and brown. Brown linoleum floors, brown walls, brown closet doors. Knowing that we wanted to turn this area into a beautiful suite for our guests, T went to work ripping everything out so we could start fresh. Unfortunately, this was started day 2 of the move, and I don't have good photos to really dramatize just how drastic the change is!
Below, you can see a photo of the old, cramped bathroom. We changed the location to an outer wall so we could add a window for natural light, along with some much needed square footage!
